NYTimes: Kandinsky, an Exhibition, at the Pompidou

And what did you think about the expo? I loved how the artist%26#39;s voice was clear and distinguished from the very beginning of his career, even if his style changed dramatically.

The expo is very popular and very crowded. I was too overwhelmed by all the eye candy to see the neighboring Calder on the same day.

The Calder exhibit is even more popular and very impressive. I loved how the shadows of his wire sculptures played upon the walls. And his circus is a hoot.

I thought the Kandinski was boring. Boring in the sense that what they showed did not demonstrate any change in his work during the time span of the show.

The Caulder was much more interesting, especially the works he did of full bodies which were hung against a white screen and front lit. You got a better idea of how the figures were formed by seeing the figures themselves and the shadows on the screen. (I kept blowing at them to get them to move)

And you can try to spot the signature.

FWIW there%26#39;s was a big long line at the ticket windows, but only a very short line at the %26quot;serve-yourself with a credit card%26quot; window, just to the right. Do this but make sure your receipt as well as your tickets come out.
