Galeries Lafayette .... 9th or 15th?

hi all...

im a bit confused coz i read somewhere that Galeries Lafayette is in montparnasse and next to montparnasse tower...

i even saw a pic of the tower with a sign next to it that says %26#39;Galeries Lafayette %26#39;

and on TA and their website the adress is:

40, Boulevard Haussmann 75009 Paris

which is on the 9th (totally opposite!)

can someone pls help... thanks

It is a small, sad branch at Montparnasse. The big, beautiful flagship store is on Haussmann.

|||

thanks phread

ur always really helpfull!!!!

so ill go to the one in the 9th then :)

There is a lot of Galeries Lafayette in France and a several in Paris.

But the famous Galeries Lafayette with the dome is in the 9th

You can take the subway to Opéra, La Madeleine, Havre Caumartin, or Chaussée d%26#39;Antin.

The G Lafayette at Montparnasse can be convenient to shop at if you%26#39;re staying close by, they do have nice things and I liked being able to drop stuff off at the hotel but it isn%26#39;t beautiful and is much smaller.

my dad wants me to buy him some cologne and perfume...would this be a good place or is there a better noe?

|||

For gifts I usually just look and choose perfume at such stores and then buy them at the airport duty-free. Got to get there early though, to have enough time.

|||

does CDG have a good selection of parisian colognes/perfumes?

|||

CDG is huge, some parts have big duty-free shops with a good selection, others not so much, but the very popular/common brands are there.

|||

I won%26#39;t add to the Galeries Lafayette posts as you%26#39;ve got the message (B.Haussmann the original and best) but there%26#39;s a chain of perfume shops called Sephora which in fact I think are a little dearer for some brands but I mention only because the Sephora on the Champs Elysees is an amazing shop. It stretches back from the street for miles with every conceivable brand of make up and perfume. It%26#39;s worth a look even just as a spectacle. It%26#39;s on the same side as the Virgin megastore, on the right hand side looking towards the etoile.

|||

If you need to buy some perfume, you can go to Sephora.

There are less people than Galeries Lafayette.

You don%26#39;t need to go to the Sephora on the Champs Elysées because there are a lot of Sephora in Paris (21).
