Can%26#39;t say I%26#39;ve done the journey, but going through Tours seems to offer the fastest route, although this will probably depend on when exactly you want to travel. The TGV can be booked online (has to be reserved)but it looks like the ongoing train to Saumur can%26#39;t be, whichever station you change at. Have a look at www.voyages-sncf.com.

There is a TGV website

This gives you the information you need.

Just came back from Paris %26amp; Saumur...first train from Charles DeGaulle to Saumur is at 1:30pm. We had an 8:40am arrival in Paris, and had to wait 3 1/2 hours for the train. In addition, there was a change of trains at St. Pierre des Cors, then a shuttle to Tours, and a second change of trains.

One%26#39;s best bet is to catch a train to the train station Gare Montparnasse, where trains that will take you to Saumur depart hourly.

Additionally, the Hotel Terminus is directly across the street from the Saumur train depot; and the Hotel Alcyon, where we stayed, is on the same street, one block farther down. Very convenient locations and accommodations.

Easiest way to find train times is on the DB website. reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin//query.exe/en
