Flying to Nice - looking for peace and relaxation

We have flights to Nice at the end of May and are looking for three days of serious R%26amp;R. I know Nice isn%26#39;t the most tranquil of places. Where can we go within an hour or so that%26#39;s quiet and relaxing with some great views, a nice beach within reach and some good food and wine to be had?

Villefranche ticks most of the boxes, though it may be becoming busy. Cap Ferrat/ St Jean is another good choice.

How much do you want to spend on your hotel?

Hi there, Eze is quite tranquil and has fantastic views but the hotels are expensive.

Personally, I recommend Menton it is quiet, clean and has some decent hotels, check out the Hotel Napoleon.

This one is down to costs- i.e. how much you are prepared to pay for a hotel. Nice itself is very busy, also Menton. I stayed at the Hotel Napoleon last year- it wasn%26#39;t the most relaxing. I agree with Nicelife- Villefranche is relaxing, but the best hotel is probably the Hotel Welcome- brilliant location, but not a full service hotel. Plenty of good restaurants in the vicinity though. I find Beaulieu sur mer and St jean cap ferrat relaxing with access to great beaches. Antibes might also be worth a look- good beach and restaurants. Inland- there are also a number of wonderful villages to consider- great hotels, 20 minutes from a good beach. Personally, I think the area east of Nice- between Nice and Menton is the most scenic and tranquil.
