kayaking on the loire with children

Does anyone know of somewhere we can kayak as a family (with no prior experience so very safe)on the Loire.

Kayaking with the family is a great activity. However, most of the Loire is too swift with treacherous currents and undertows to safely travel with family members, at least in my opinion. There may be some areas closer to its origins in Auvergne sufficiently safe for recreation.

Through what areas will you be traveling? If you haven%26#39;t considered donkey treks take a look:

Not the loire itself - a lot of the loire is very slow flowing water over very shallow gravel banks. You would spend more time carrying a kayak than paddling it!

Some of the other rivers in the area have kayaking facilities and do training. One such is in Veigne (just - about 5 miles - south of Tours) that does kayaking.

I had suspected that the Loire might not be suitable for our family, we did manage to kayake around the most beautiful town last year in the area but obviously not on the Loire. We certainly hadn%26#39;t considered donkey trekking but now you%26#39;ve given us something else to think about, what a good idea. Many thanks for taking time to reply.
