can someone tell me what exactly carte paris visite covers?(zone 1-3) is it enough to visit the 1st 2nd, 3rd,4th,5th,7th and 8th arrodissments?

Yes, it is farclouds. The pass covers all the %26#39;central%26#39; areas of the city, but not the suburbs.

All the Paris arrondissements (1 to 20) are in public transport zone 1. Zones 2 and 3 are the closest suburbs, like Puteaux, Meudon, Créteil, Saint-Denis, etc.

As long as you stay on the metro, you won%26#39;t have to worry about zones. Only when you use the RER (or regular trains) you%26#39;ll have to watch out.

It covers all the area inside the Peripherique (the ring road) plus the metro lines (but not RER lines) that go further out.
