Hotel with parking?

My wife and I plan to spend 3 days late June in La Rochelle and would appreciate advice on a good mid range hotel, easily found by car and with parking.

We want to lazily explore what we hear is a lovely town, and spend one day on Ile de Re.

Thanks

We stayed at Hotel les Brises for three days a couple of years ago and liked it - It%26#39;s a little ways from the center of town (10-15 minute walk - easy - beach road walk - day or night time was fine). We never did, but You could drive into the center if you wanted also - about 3-4 minutes at most) les Brises has parking right at the hotel. We did ask for a room facing the beach - really nice - the hotel is right on the water. They have breakfast there but not other meals, but we never minded the walk. To get there follow signs to the center of town and then follow signs to the hotel - it%26#39;s a fairly straight road near the water. La Rochelle was great - nice relaxed town - a very nice %26quot;restaurant row section of town gives you lots of options for dining. We did visit Ile deRe one day and really liked it a lot

We did look at other hotels in town, but were glad we decided on Les Brises - much more quiet than town, a beautiful deck on the water, a satisfactory service bar and, of course, parking

The Comfort St Nicholas is the most central with secure parking. Rates are reasonable and the hotel is very comfortable. We have stayed in the Comfort many times, with never a complaint. All the mid priced hotels in town , France Angleterre, Francois I, have secure parking.

Les Brises is ok, my father in law stayed there in October last year, rooms comfortable but he thought it was a bit of a walk into town, so we often picked him up in the car, although on the plus side, the bar opposite %26quot;Le Corniche%26quot; is one of our favourite bars in the area, it does great bar snacks like ham egg and chips!

The Novotel in the park has parking so may be another option.

If youre arriving late june, then town should be very busy as the film festival starts 26th June , and hotels are usually at capacity, so you will need to book soon.

Thank you both for your replies! I have had a look at the Brises website and it looks like it will suit us just fine. Will try and book it now.

This Tripadvisor community is great!!
