We´ll be visiting Chamonix from Megeve for one day only in mid July. We would like to go to Montenvers Mer de Glace. Should we book a pass in advance or can we just buy it in Chamonix?

Four of us were there early last July and we just arrived at the station 20mins before the train was due to depart and bought the tickets then.
