Eurocamp St Raphael Douce Quietude

Hi

We are going to a Eurocamp site in June at St Raphael called Douce Quietude staying with Campus Holidays in a caravan. Any information or tips anyone has which will be helpful during our stay would be much appreciated - we know about the speedo police !.

Our main question however is that we are flying to Nice and need to get down to St Raphael with two young children, suitcases and a buggy. How easy have people found the TGV connection ? Do people think it is worth us hiring a car for the duration of the stay to get about ? Are there car hire places in St Raphael ? How close are there shops to the campsite.

Any info would be much appreciated.

Hi

We travelled to Douce Quietude in June last year with two small children, I can%26#39;t comment on the train or public transport but we hired a car and found it very useful. The site itself is a good walk from any shops, there is one on site but the supermarkets are better value. We hired from the airport and that went well, there was a wait at the car hire place because we arrived with lots of other tourists on an easyjet flight.

Hope this is useful

There seems to be a good train service from Nice St Augustin along the coast to St Raphael and Frejus. St Augustin Station is the Airport stop.

I haven%26#39;t been to D Quietude yet [going in June] so I don%26#39;t know which of the three or four stations are best for the campsite.

Timetables for Europe are best sourced on the German railway website - Die Bahn - open the appropriate language page. The summer timetable may not be posted up yet

Hi

I work for Keycamp and actually took a whole bunch of staff here last year by TGV. I loved the site and the staff did too, especially the pool.

To make the journey from Nice Airport to Douce Quietude is prettys traight forward.

Like the previous comment, catch the local shuttle bus from the aiport to the Nice rail station and then catch the train to St.Rapheal-Valescure. Some are TGV, some are local trains but on this part of the line all they all travel at about the same speed (High Speed line is only between Paris / Marseille). They are about hourly. When you arrive at St.Raphael-Valescure, just catch a cab - 10 minutes to site, plenty outside the station (about 20 Euros)

The campsite itself is a bit away from the beach, the main parts of St.Raphael and Frejus so you may want to go with the car anyway (you can hire at Nice Aiport (all ops) or at the St.Raphael rail station (Europcar or Avis).

If you really don%26#39;t want to drive, there are local buses you can jump on near to the campsite, or best of all - hire some bikes.

Have a great holiday..

I think if you want to see anything of the area and for easy transport to the beach it would be worth hiring a car especially if you have young children. We always prebook one from the airport

We have stayed here twice and hired a car both times.
