Best hotel in Gordes?

What%26#39;s the best hotel in Gordes or the surrounding area.

|||

What do you mean by best--location, rooms, pool, restaurant?

|||

Here%26#39;s some more detail:

1. we%26#39;d like a pool

2. private room with bath

Price is not very important--we%26#39;re willing to splurge.

For top-level luxury, check into La Bastide de Gordes and Spa. Another possibility in nearby Joucas is Le Mas des Herbes Blanches, a Relais et Château property, where you can even have your very own pool. Also in Joucas is the Hostellerie Le Phébus. Both of those are expensive. But we really liked La Ferme de la Huppe, a converted farm on a side road beneath Gordes. The atmosphere is modern rustic, which may not be to your taste, but we found it very comfortable, and the restaurant is excellent.

Hands down, the place you seek is La Bastide de Gordes:

If price is not terribly important, this is the place.

Hi

The Bastide de Gordes has one of the greatest views in Provence at sunset.........apart from that I can%26#39;t think of any thing else to recommend it

Les Herbes Blanches is a complete nono, poor food, poor service etc.

Phebus can%26#39;t comment as I have never eaten or stayed there.

Ferme de la Huppe is probably the best bet.

However if i were to visit Provence for the first time I would not stay in Gordes, it is a tourist trap and not really Provencal.

Wilko, where would you stay in the Luberon and in St Remy?

Thanks..

Hello again

Might I suggest you check out B%26amp;Bs on this web site. It is quite simple to pick a place which gives easy access to both Gordes, Luberon, and St Remy, Alpilles, ie there is no need to make it a 2 base holiday.

Hello. If Gordes is not suggested as a good place to see Provence since it is a tourist trap - where would you suggest we stay/visit to see Provence?

Thank you.

Try Mas Pomona, we have recently stayed there and it%26#39;s very centrally located for the hill villages and St Remy along with lots of other tourist activities. Read my hotel review and trip report for more information;

I agree with Wilko

I would not stay in Gordes. It is deffinately a tourist trap and if you visit Avignon -et -Provence.com you will see some other lovely places without hving to pay the prices in Gordes
