Paris day trip to Normandy & Mont-St-Michel

Is it possible to see Omaha Beach and Mont-St-Michel on a day trip from Paris? If so, any suggestions. Better to rent a car, or find a bus tour? Thanks.

It will take about 3.75 hours from Paris to MSM, about 1.5 hours to Omaha and then 3 hours back to Paris. That%26#39;s if there are no hold-ups anywhere and I would imagine that getting out of Paris in the morning will add at least an extra 30 minutes to that travel time unless it%26#39;s a Sunday but then you%26#39;ll add time at MSM trying to park on a Sunday.

So you%26#39;rea already looking at a minimum of 8 hours driving without stopping anywhere!

You need around 3 hours at MSM (and if it%26#39;s in the summer you can queue for up to an hour just to park) and if you want to do anything other than look at Omaha beach, ie visit the museum and/or the cemetery you will need to allow another 2 hours there. These are all absolute minimum times, so in a word I would say NO you can%26#39;t do both in a day from Paris.

Thaiumerie is spot-on as ever

Yes, exactly the advice I was looking for. Thanks! Maybe save Normandy and MSM for next time.

Is there a city from which Normandy beaches and MSM are doable? Rennes, perhaps?

Bayeux is a good base. It is very close to Normandy Beaches. MSM is around 90 minutes away.

Sammy%26#39;s right, Bayeux is a good base for both.
