Courchevel 1550 - Residence Les Brigues

we (4 adults) booked les Brigues self catering for a week end of March 2009. It was better than we expected, and we paid only £450 per 6 person apartment. it would be a bit tiny for 6 adults, but for 4 was ideal. I must add though that we are all good skiers and are out all day on the slopes. The slope was 20 meters away and we took our skis off 1 meter from the door. Be aware however if you are not a good skier - the slope is red and in the morning was rather like a slightly steep concrete. But there is a mini bus stopping at the residence and that takes you down to the main lift. Definitely - we will be going there again.

Courchevel is sooo pricey! Even Meribel and Val Thorens are cheaper. Funny but I really do not see anything special in the town (especially 1550). You just pay for %26#39;the brand%26#39;. But skiing is fantastic and the skipass - extremely expensive - is worth the money if one starts early in the morning and skis all day.

Highly recommended by us, but if one is after luxury - this might not be the place!
