Could there be sunflowers?

We are travelling to Belgium, France and Germany for 8 weeks this year and are hoping we will be in the right spot at some stage to see sunflowers in bloom. We will commence our travels in Belgium mid August and will then travel into France at the end of August first visiting the Somme before making our way down through the Loire, the Dordogne to Auch arriving Auch around the 6th of September From Auch we will move onto the French alps and the black forest in Germany completing our trip mid October.

Can anyone advise if sunflowers may be in bloom in any of the areas we plan on visiting or will it be too late. Any advise is appreciated.

Hi there,

I%26#39;d suggest that the end of August is too late for sunflowers in France - you%26#39;ll see the fields, but the flowers will have finished and it will be seed heads you%26#39;re more likely to see.

To see fields of sunflowers in their glory you really need to be in France in July.

Sorry if this is not the answer you were hoping for! It sounds like you%26#39;ve got a wonderful trip planned and I%26#39;m sure you%26#39;ll see many lovely sites, even if there are no sunflowers!
