Campsites - which should I choose

I am looking at going camping in Cap D%26#39;Agde in August this year and have found 2 sites with availability but as we%26#39;ve never been to this area before and can%26#39;t find any reviews on either site I wondered if anyone knows either of them.

The 2 sites are Le Castellas and Le Cap Agathios. Both look ok on their websites, but then again they always do. We are taking our 12 year old daughter so want her to have something to do, but likewise we would like to walk out in the evening so need there to be somewhere to go within a reasonable distance. Also, there is a rail line through the town - is it noisy at night?

Any information anyone can give would be most gratefully received.

Thanks,

Karen

I have never visited these sites, so cannot advise you regarding their facilities.

Le Cap Agathois:

1.The site is not by the sea and is not at Cap d’Agde. It is on the Eastern edge of Agde town.

2.It is very near a busy railway line, you will be troubled by noise.

3.The nearest buildings, starting 300m West, are the town’s main industrial estate.

4.Unless you enjoy route marches, you will not find anywhere to walk to in the evenings.

5.In August it is highly unlikely that you will be able to drive to a suitable beach in the advertised `5 min`. You certainly will not wish to walk such distances in the heat.

6.As nature reserve lagoons are very close, you will definitely need protection from the evening mosquitoes.

Le Castellas:

a.Is about 12 km from Agde and Cap d’Agde, between Sète and Marseillan Plage.

b.Between the railway main line (as above) and the busy coast road.

c.Beautiful, long, safe, sandy beach is 25m away, across the road.

d.There is nowhere outside to walk to.
