Can it be done?Notre Dame, Louvre and Musee d Orsay in 1 day

We%26#39;re staying in Paris for 3 full days. We wanted to see as much sights as we can, I wanted to know if I can do we can do Notre Dame in the morning, Louvre in the afternoon and Musee d Orsay in the evening (Musee d Orsay closes at 2145 (9:45pm) on Thursday)? is it doable?

Yes, you can do all three in one day (as long as you%26#39;re not planning to see the entire Louvre during your afternoon visit!). It%26#39;s likely that you will be feeling %26quot;museum overload%26quot; by the time you get to the d%26#39;Orsay though...you might want to see it on another day, provided you don%26#39;t have a lot of other museums on your list to visit.

|||

It%26#39;s doable, but I wouldn%26#39;t recommend it, unless you just want to breeze through for some of the highlights. Even then, it%26#39;s a lot of walking!

|||

It is doable, as Louvre and Musée d%26#39;Orsay are quite close (just have to cross the passerelle Solferino)

It all depends on how deep you want to explore both museums. The Louvre only would require at least 1 full day for art amateurs, but seeing the %26quot;essentials%26quot; may be done in a half-day.

If you have only 3 full days, it%26#39;s agood way to optimize your schedule.

Please do take some time to walk around Ile St Louis behind Notre Dame.

|||

It can be done. I suggest you have lunch at a restaurant in-between museums to get some rest. And it%26#39;ll be a lot easier if you decide, in advance, what you want to see most at the Louvre and how much time you want to spend there.

|||

Sure, it *can* be done.

Should it? Probably not -- it doesn%26#39;t allow you enough time in any of them (especially once you figure in lunch, transit time, and entry lines) to really *see* them.

It%26#39;s ticking items off a list, not really seeing them, to do all three in one day.

Why would you want to...it is a bit like eating too many chocolates- you dont enjoy them at all! Notre Dame IMO is actually a fairly quick visit. If you just did one gallery at the Louvre (and I never do more than one in detail as again I just get overloaded) and then went to the Orsay you might be OK...just remember keep things in perspective- this is a short trip. Enjoy what you do and see. Think of what you have seen and not what you have missed. It was only on my third trip to Paris that I started to enjoy the city and not until my 4th that I was seduced by the city%26#39;s charms....The reason I disliked the first 2 visits was a check list mentality.

I would not recommend it at all. You will be exhausted. If you want to enjoy it, try Louvre one day and Orsay in another different day.

Also, be very sure what you want to visit at Louvre, because it%26#39;s huge.

In the other hand, you can visit all Orsay in one day.

The only reason I can think of to %26quot;do%26quot; them all in one day is to be able to say that you%26#39;ve been there--but you won%26#39;t have really been there. I agree that Notre Dame won%26#39;t take all that long, and then the Musee D%26#39;Orsay would be enjoyable. For the Louvre, in my opinion, you need to plan what you%26#39;re going to see. If you%26#39;re going to do just the highlights, you can get Rick Steves%26#39; Paris book and use his %26quot;plan of attack.%26quot; He describes a route through the Louvre that hits the major things he considers to be the highlights. You will be on museum overload if you do both museums in the same day, in my opinion.

|||

Do go to the Musee d%26#39;Orsay on Thursday evening, it%26#39;s by far the best time. I know it%26#39;s blasphemy, but I%26#39;m not enamored with the Louvre and often skip it on short visits. You%26#39;re in there until you can%26#39;t stand another minute, then run for the door. Total overload! I%26#39;m happier at the smaller museums.

|||

Plan it well and you%26#39;ll be fine, there%26#39;s nothing stopping you from going to the Louvre for a couple of hours, much better to see a bit than nothing at all.

I tend to spend the day, with a break for lunch, and love every moment and if I just had one hour to spend at the Louvre, it would be an hour well spent.
