Budget eating at 6th?

Can someone recommend budget eating at 6th? approx Eur15 - 20 per person for lunch. Any recommendations?

Vagenende at 142 blvd St. Germain would fit the bill nicely. Inexpensive, good food.

Pizzas are always good value and can be easily found in all areas of central Paris.

Dear Envy78,

If you don%26#39;t mind picnicing, you can always buy food at a Traiteur%26#39;s shop. There%26#39;s one near the Rue de Buci market and also one on the Rue de Verneuil. I also believe that Paul%26#39;s ( a boulangerie/patisserie) on the Rue de Buci has decently priced lunches.

Bonne chance,

I can recommend a few places for a decent budget lunch in the 6e:

L%26#39;Enfance de Lard on rue Guisard for traditional Parisian cuisine in a traditional setting.

La Crêperie des Canettes on rue des Canettes for a good choice of well prepared crêpes.

Chez Clément on Place Saint-André-des-Arts - one of a chain of restaurants in Paris serving a good choice of well prepared dishes at very reasonable prices.

Bon appétit!

You%26#39;ll find any number of good local cafés in the neighborhoods of the 6eme, where you can enjoy a pleasant luncheon on the budget you mention. Most will have daily cartes or prix fixe formula menus with pricing, prominently posted out front.

A couple of good spots for luncheon in the upper-6eme are BISTRO MAZARINE, 42 rue Mazarine and LA PALETTE, 43 rue de Seine--at either end of the tiny rue Jacques Callot (if your Paris street map doesn%26#39;t show and identify by name, rue Jacques Callot, you need a better street map).

We second Vagenende. Very good food at reasonable prices. Evelyn got hooked on their floating island and we returned several times just for dessert. (Not usually recommended but we got to know the Maitre%26#39;d very well...)

We also discovered a chain restaurant that turned out to be very good and quite affordable. Leon de Bruxelles at the corner of Rue de Montfaucon and Bvd. St. Germain seems to be one of a chain of eateries featuring mussels. It was recommended by one of our %26quot;hotel-mates%26quot; on a Sunday evening and turned out to be a good choice. If you enjoy mussels at a truely affordable price, this is the place for you. If you don%26#39;t enjoy mussels they have an assortment of seafood and meat choices on their menu. (Evelyn opted for the beef braised in Belgium beer and it was outstanding).

Evelyn and Matt

There are also a couple of good crêperies located along rue Saint André des Arts for pleasant, inexpensive luncheons

For a budget lunch, I like Cosi, 54 rue de Seine : good original sandwiches in a home made flat bread. They also offer soups in winter. With opera music and english speaking staff (the owner is originally from Australia or New Zealand)!

The Bar du Marche on IIRC the corner of the rue de Seine and the rue Buci...
