Montmartre or Pantheon/Luxembourg Gardens for last night?

We have to stay in a large chain hotel in Montparnasse for most of our stay in Paris, so for our last night I wanted to find a really romantic hotel and surroundings. I%26#39;m trying to decide between the Hotel des Grandes Hommes near the Pantheon and Hotel Terrass in Montmartre. I thought the proximity to the Luxembourg Gardens could be really nice, but on the other hand, Montmartre seems like it shouldn%26#39;t be missed. Which would you choose?

Between those two, I%26#39;d choose Montmartre. Hotel Terrass has a lovely restaurant on one of the upper floors with beautiful views over Paris, and Montmartre is a terrific %26quot;last night%26quot; place, especially if you wander for those staircases lined on either side with vintage street lamps.

Luxembourg Gardens are only open until dusk, and you can easily visit the gardens and surrounding neighborhoods from Montparnasse. Highly recommend a lunch or dinner at La Ferrandaise.

It might be a good idea to spend the last night (or maybe just some time) in Montmartre, but I prefer Hotel des Grands Hommes to Hotel Terrass. It%26#39;s newer, prettier and some rooms have great views, can arrange for one in advance.

The location, on Place du Panthéon and a few min walk to Lux Garden is great, Latin Quarter and St-Germain-des-Prés are right there and one can walk to the Seine to Quai St-Michel...

Thanks so much to both of you - it%26#39;s a hard decision!
