Hotels and B&Bs in late July

Me and the missus will be renting a car in late July to drive around in Provence for about a week.

My question is:

will we have to book the hotels and B%26amp;Bs in advance or is there any chance to just %26quot;step in%26quot;?

We´ll try to stay away from the tourist-traps and drive aoround the countryside.

Late July is high season in Provence and I%26#39;d advise you reserve B%26amp;Bs in advance - also because most of them do not accept guests just for a night or two in high season. Have a look at provenceweb.com there you%26#39;ll find B%26amp;Bs listed alphabetically by the town or village they a in or close by.
