If you are thinking of using l%26#39;Opentour for getting around, note that, while it does go around to all the major sights/attractions, the routes are circular, so you%26#39;d want to plan visits in order of stops. Views from seats on the open air upper deck are magnificent - but best enjoyed when the weather is favorable. There is a narrow, curved, staircase involved for getting to the upper level.

If the weather is not so nice (or you%26#39;d have to sit on the lower level of l%26#39;Opentour), you may as well use the city buses, which are much more economical.

Hotel Turenne is a 2-3 minute walk from Place de l%26#39;Ecole Militaire, where there are half a dozen or more bus routes to all over. The metro station at Ecole Militaire has an escalator out, but not in (but only one - double - flight of stairs). Some, but not all, metro stations have escalators (often only out). But, they can be difficult to locate and are often a long walk.

At any rate, for someone who cannot walk very far, the buses are the better bet than the metro, especially when transfers are required.

Buses 82 and 92 travel on ave de Tourville, past Hotel Turenne, which is located about midway between two stops (Place de l%26#39;Ecole Militaire and Place Vauban). Bus 82 will take you as close as you can get by bus to the Tour Eiffel. If you want to be as close as possible to all the bus routes at Place de l%26#39;Ecole Militaire, have a look at Hotel Prince and Hotel Eber Mars, both of which are within steps walking.

For minimal walking/buses/metro, Place de l%26#39;Ecole Militaire area would be far better than rue des Rosiers, and also better for cafes, restaurants, etc.

There are things to see within an 1/8th of a mile at most stops for the hop on hop off bus. Some stops will require you to walk farther to really enoy the points of interest.

The larger metro stations and those that are also served by the RER may have an escalator. Overall, the metro in Paris is not user friendly to those who have physical limitations. Buses may be a better choice.

I was in Paris last week and I only saw one person with a cane trying to walk up some stairs at the metro. I did not see any people with wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, etc. or an elavator. Overall, Paris is not as handicap friendly as the US.

The hop on hop off bus can be a pleasant experience for someone with physical limitations, especially if they can get to the upper deck with the panaromic views.

You should also consider using taxis or a tour company that uses mini-vans and can pick you at your hotel to take you on a tour.

Just google pairs sightseeing and paris metro for useful websites.
