From CDG (Paris) to Gare Montparnasse Train Station

I will be arriving in Paris on 5/22 from Atlanta and need to get to Sarlat, France. I found a TGV train from Gare Montparnasse at 7:45 am to Libourne then to Sarlat.

Is the Montparnasse train station almost an hour away? What are my options to get there from CDG Paris Airport? If by taxi, is it still around 50 minutes? How much will it cost me? Thanks.

Much depends upon when you want to go to Montparnasse. May 22nd is a Friday so expect a good amount of traffic inbound to Paris making time estimates from CDG to Montparnasse difficult.

Here are the travel options:

1. RER B to Denfert-Rochereau, connect M4 direction Porte de Clingnancourt. Time 50 minutes, cost 8.40€. Disadvantage here is carrying luggage through the RER/Métro and possible disorientation if you are not familiar with the overall process.

2. Air France Bus Line #4 to Montparnasse. Time about 1 hour, fare 16.50€

3. Taxi about 1 hour, fare approximately 50€ to 60€

Heavy traffic along A1 and the Périphérique could add to both the time estimates to options #2 %26amp; #3 and the cost of option #3.

I should recommend leaving 3-4 hours between your CDG scheduled arrival and any planned Montparnasse departure.

You can go from CDG to Libourne by TGV and then on to Sarlat, avoid Paris altogether.

We have decided to take a taxi from CDG to Sarlat on Saturday, May 23 (not Friday). We arrive at 5:30 a.m. from the US. I priced out the cost for a private car/driver which was over $1,100.00 in a Mercedes and somewhat less in a Peugeot. Does anyone know how much it would cost to take a taxi to Sarlat for this 5.5-hour drive? Are there any websites I could check out first?
