Nice sight to propose near calais?

Hi all,

I am proposing to my girlfriend this coming tuesday in Calais. Well we are taking the ferry for a day trip to Calais. It may sound %26quot;tight/cheapo%26quot; but i have spent a fair bit on the ring and we are staying in the hilton upon our return to london so this is what i have got to work with! We cant travel too far, 45mins driving is probably the furthest we can venture to make it back in time.

In essence i wanted to know if anyone knows a romantic place driving distance from calais where i can ask that question?

St. Omer i went to a while ago but is that romantic....?

Many thanks

ps i would love mont saint michel but it is too far!

I was going to suggest Montreuil, old town, but that may be too far. How about the old town in Boulogne? Park outside the walls and walk in - there%26#39;s the big church, the main square, or up on the walls?

montreil im not too familiar with however i googled boulogne and it looks fab! thanks for the advice!

yup, agree with Boulogne, especially the old town :)

thanks chaps. i have planned a route from calais to le touquet via the national parc nr calais, then to cap gris nez and then passing through boulogne.

The national parc is right next to the channel tunnel, you dont think ill be having to avoid people trying to make a sneaky entrance into england do you?
