I am trying to find a hotel anywhere within the 1 – 7 district for 3 nights end May and each one I try is booked. I am willing to go as far as €150 a night but that would be max I hope, what am I doing wrong? All I want is a twin room, in a reasonably nice hotel, with obviously good reviews from Trip Advisors – anyone out there can give me any suggestions, throw a couple of hotel names at me and I will do the rest. Thanks, getting a little nervous now as the flights are booked and no hotel sorted,

Go on Ratestogo.com. They are specialized on last minutes travels and generally have decent deals.
Compare their hotels against tripadvosor reviews and ratings and you will be able to make up your mind.

Should be 121 E for a twin room (shows availablity)at the Hotel Argenson in the 8th- private bath. Breakfast( yummy croissants) is included but they hve no breakfast room , so it is seved in your room at the time requested. Only 2* , but we love it and have stayed there twice. Easy walk to the Champs and the Metro.
We laughed about the decor- lots of flowers and chintz which was very busy to us, but very clean and lovely owner/manager.

I have also stayed in the St Christophe, and loved it! Rue Mouffetard is great, as is the market at Place Monge. Good metro links also.

I really liked the Hotel Bastille Speria on Rue de la Bastille (3rd or maybe edge of the 4th). Its a little off the guidebook radar, so you may be lucky. But, I think its in Rick Steves, so maybe not.
It was about 120euros when I was there last September. Great location, nice staff, an elevator and quiet air conditioning!

I have stayed at Hotel College de France. It seems not too book up too early and is in your price range.

Try the Hotel Bonaparte, Hotel le Clement, and Hotel du Lys, all in the 6th.
