Local experience - Bed & Breakfast ~ 150 Euros?

I%26#39;ve looked through and sent emails to hosts of B%26amp;B%26#39;s listed on trip advisor, but have no heard anything back from anyone...

We%26#39;re looking at a last-minute scenario here, arriving May 19th, leaving May 23rd. I have hotel Bassano booked right now, but would love to get a more genuine, local experience if I can. I am in love with the idea of eating breakfast in a real house with with Parisians, brushing up on my francais - sounds silly...but I think it would be neat - and hopefully cheaper than the $300/nt. Bassano.

Ideally, I would like to spend about $200 (150 Euros) per night on a room, with breakfast and it should be somewhat close to public transportation to all the major sights.

Looking for locals who have connections with friendly hosts or travellers with experience.

Thanks

First of all I should say that I have never stayed there, nor have I ever seen it nor do I have any connection to this establishment. But I happened to meet the owner at an art exhibition in Paris (she%26#39;s a painter) and she was a lovely, interesting woman who seemed like she would be the perfect host. She spoke excellent English, her flat is in a very central location, and she%26#39;s recommended in Alistair Sawday%26#39;s guide of special places to stay. Might be worth a try? Let me know if you do stay there and what you thought. This is the only link I can find--there doesn%26#39;t seem to be a website so you will have to telephone. Good luck!

Have you tried %26quot;Alcoves %26amp; Agapes bed and breakfast in paris%26quot;? We will be in Paris in 2 weeks and are staying in a %26quot;hosted apartment/guest suite/B%26amp;B%26quot; through this site. So far, dealings with Francoise have been very easy, but we haven%26#39;t actually %26quot;experienced%26quot; this yet.

Do a %26quot;reservations%26quot; search at:

bed-and-breakfast-in-paris.com/Dicillin.php… with your dates.

I found this site through Frommers and also through TA, and will post a review after we return from Paris as I find the reviews on TA are quite helpful.

GOod luck.

Have you tried Bonne Nuit Paris in the Marais, 3eme?

The owner Jean-Luc was very responsive when I emailed them... we%26#39;ll be staying there 6 nights in July. The prices are 125-150 euro including breakfast. There are only 3 or 4 rooms.

Go on ratestogo.com. They are specialized on last minute deals. You can see the hotels they offer at decent rates and check their reviews on tripadvisor. That way you can try to find the best option, quality and price wise.

A friend of mine booked her room through AlcĂ´ves et Agapes last January, and found her experience so good she%26#39;s going back to the same apartment next month. They are %26quot;supervised%26quot; by the Paris Tourism Office, so I assume they are OK. Try here: www.bed-and-breakfast-in-paris.com

Forgot to tell you she paid 100 euros for a double, breakfast included, and the apartment was on rue Descartes, a great area in the 5th.

You could try checking if there are any replies from the hotels you emailed in your junk (or %26#39;deleted items%26#39;) box. There have been a number of people on this and the London forum who have made a similar complaint about hotels not replying to emails, and in more than half of those cases it turned out they had replied but those replies had been consigned to oblivion by the email settings on the recipient%26#39;s computer.

Would you like to try a pension family owned?
