We recently ate twice at La Boussole in the 6th, a few blocks off the Blvd St. Germain

Appitizers, two platters and a bottle of wine came to $95.00 (70 euros) and $86.00 (65 euros)

Another somewhat less expensive restrauant is the Bistro Mazerin, good for lentils or shelfish...

Same type of meal for $69.00 (52 euros)

And we always walk across to the Brasserie D%26#39;Ile St Louis for one dinner during a stay in Paris. Very good Alsacian food. $58.00 (44 euros)

And for a fun cafe, the bar du Marche...

That%26#39;s a terrific location, between rue de Vaugirard and rue de Rennes, with some of the most beautiful buildings in Paris all around (check out 140 rue de Rennes and 95 rue de Vaugirard!).

You%26#39;ll find appealing cafes, and restaurants, with a quick walk around the neighborhood.

Our favorite restaurants nearby include Josephine Chez Dumonet, Montparnasse 1900, Le Midi-Vins, and a bit farther way Au Petit Lutecia. But, the neighborhood is chock full of possibilities.

If you enjoy jazz, stop by Hippocampus (great place for a good but inexpensive lunch or dinner) and pick up the schedule. The people there are very friendly and will describe the performers and their music!
