closest TGV station to St. Paul de Vence? HELP!

Hello,

My daughter and I are arriving at CDG in Paris the morning of May 21. We need to get to St. Paul De Vence sometime that day! Easyjet flights to Nice won%26#39;t accommodate our luggage - so we thought we would take a TGV train as close as we could get and perhaps rent a car. I%26#39;m having a devil of a time trying to figure this out on my own. Could someone please help me???Or give me other realistic options? THANK YOU!

The best solution would be to reduce the amount of your luggage. My wife and I can spend 3 months in Europe with around 20 kg each.

The nearest main station to St Paul de Vence is Nice, and you could hire a car there if you arrive at a reasonable hour. However, this might be difficult, as the trains take 5.5 to 6 hours for the trip.

You can get train times and costs from www.voyages-sncf.com but stick with French. If you switch to English, you get another site that does not list all the trains.

Our personal luggage is no problem - we travel extremely light - unfortunately we agreed to take extra luggage to a friend%26#39;s son. Long story - but I am rethinking the favor! thanks for the info.

Depending on train arrival times and car rental opening times, you may be better getting the TGV just to Marseille - the fast line ends there anyway and it%26#39;s a normal train between Marseille and Nice. Hire a car in Marseille and drive along the motorway to St Paul.

The TGV stops in Antibes which might be more convenient than Nice if you take a taxi to Saint-Paul.

St Paul is only about a half hour from Nice so driving all the way from Marseille seems a bit much.

Keep any driving to a minimum the first day you get off a trans Atlantic flight.

Antibes or Nice would be best to grab a car... check your TGV schedule to see if one makes more sense than the other for timing.

Be aware there is often an extra charge for picking up a car at a railway station.

The TGV trip will take about 5:30 hours to Nice. If you can%26#39;t get a train from CDG you can get to Gare de Lyon in half an hour or so and be on the Cote d%26#39;Azur by mid afternoon.
