In another TA post someone commented that the public phones are free at CDG. It was made in reference to calling an apartment owner upon arrival. I find it hard to believe--something free. Any truth to it?

I believe this is only possible if you are calling a toll free number. The shuttle service we use has a toll freee number.

In the baggage receiving area, there is a manned desk for the various airlines. In April, I asked a person at the desk to call the owner for me so I could let her know we were on the way. That was free.
