I have done international business and know how to bow when in Tokyo and hug in Buenos Aires, but Paris still eludes me.
1) It is OK to give a quick kiss (left right) to female co-workers, but only after the first meeting?
2) If introduced to a female companion of an associate after hours a quick L/R kiss is OK?
3) Male greetings are predominately American handshakes but not the combined handshake + hug of Latin America? (Assuming not familial / business partners)? Maybe a grip on the wrist with the left hand as a compromise?
Thanks

1. Possibly, follow their lead.
2. Again, her lead will tell you. If her cheek does not advance, neither should yours.
3. yes. A simple handshake is not a compromise. Maintaining eye contact and remembering names will give better results than a grip on the wrist.

Kisses (bises) are only for friends in a social situation. Once in a while, a cheek is offered, but it%26#39;s not automatic.
Keep it to just a handshake -- Western Europe is much more formal than the US, and I have yet to see male friends embrace in France or Germany.
